    California has three options for homeschooling. The home-based private school requirements are below.

    Courses taught in public schools; generally language arts, math, science, social studies, health and driver training.

    Instruction must be in English.

    Maintain a list of courses of study.

    Yes.

    An annual private school affidavit must be filed between Oct 1 and Oct 15 of each year. Or as soon as possible after start up.

    Yes, an attendance record is required.

    Instructors must be capable of teaching.

    Maintain a list of instructors with addresses and qualifications.

    Maintain records of immunizations or personal beliefs exemptions.

    California also offers a private school satellite program option and a private tutor option. Each has different requirements, records requirements and qualifications.
